I still find myself trying to kill enemies with bombs, save the best gear for the bosses, farm equipment, etc. ![]() I see what you mean, but that's more a problem from something inside you, not with the game (not blaming you, it's not like you chose to be a hoarder) It's not as enjoyable for compulsive hoarders who are uncomfortable stepping out of their comfort zone. ![]() It does, you just may not like the end result. They dont like it, so they say it sucks and doesn't add anything. This is like the same exact argument people have with the BOTW weapon system. I get it, you dont like it, but that doesn't mean there isn't any merits to it at all. That's not even the only other argument for it, either. So yes, there is more than just one benefit for the system. I'm not saying all motivation, but it'd definitely have hurt that aspect of the game. If you put in a fixed weapon system, you are absolutely taking away a big motivation for exploring and looting. Removing weapon degradation would do very little to reduce the copious motivation for exploration.Ĭrafting supplies, one of the main uses of which is to craft weapons/mods for weapons. I was specifically explaining the benefit of *not* having one. As I already mentioned, the weapons become obsolete through progression. I don't know if I'm just doing certain missions before I'm ready or if I'm missing an essential part, but I always seem to be pausing, minimising, and going "uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i hate this".Īnd there isn't a fixed weapons system. I ended up crafting a DLC bow and just shooting them all which seemed like cheating to me. Not a problem when it's one or two, but 5 of them in close quarters just seemed really unfair. They are insanely hard to kill, you can't stun them when an attack happens (if you hit them with a pry bar to the face, I don't care how strong they are, they should at least recoil). The level in the school (no spoilers) has you fighting about 5 of them at once. ![]() but how have you taken three repairs worth of an upgraded hammer to the head and you're still coming? Human enemies are arguably fine, but it's how the game uses them. And they take a ludicrous amount of damage. They'll swing their hammer and I'll dodge backwards, but it'll knock me on my arse anyway. Dunno if it's just me, but the big zombies seem to be able to hit me despite not being in range. Namely against the big zombies (or whatever the generic name they have is) and human enemies. The combat is mostly satisfying, but it does bother me occasionally. May as well just pick up a random hammer, it's just as effective. I just feel like it's a bit pointless because they're going to break in 10 minutes anyway, so it's just busywork. This I find confusing as they push weapon mods constantly and suggest you craft your own weapons. The idea behind the game is that you aren't meant to look at them as weapons, but more like ammunition. Weapon degradation is particularly obnoxious here. Y'know, a nice long parkour run, standing on a car and using the stomp finishing move to crush the heads of hundreds.īut the rest of the game just annoys the hell out of me.
